NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has already confirmed that it will soon launch the OnePlus 5T, successor to company’s this year flagship smartphone. Since the announcement, many leaks and rumours about the upcoming smartphone have surfaced online. Recently, popular tipster Evan Blass tweeted an image of a smartphone, which is said to be the top half of OnePlus 5T.

The images posted reveal some details of the smartphone:

Edge-to-edge display
As per the image shared by Evan Blass, it seems that the OnePlus 5T will sport an edge-to-edge display. Unlike the OnePlus 5, the smartphone will come with a display of 18:9 aspect ratio and minimal bezels on all sides.

2.5D curved glass display
Apart from the edge-to-edge display is also expected that the display will also have a layer of 2.5D curved glass. It is also expected that the display will be protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 just like its predecessor.

Front camera placement
The front camera of the OnePlus 5T will be placed in the same position like the OnePlus 5. The selfie camera will be placed on the top left side of the display along with the speaker grille.

Power button placement

The image also shows a button located on the right side of the smartphone. Going by the design of earlier launched OnePlus smartphones, it is supposedly the power button.

It is expected that the OnePlus 5T will come with similar hardware specifications just like the OnePlus 5. As per the AnTuTu listing, the smartphone will sport a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is also anticipated that the company will replace the position of the fingerprint sensor. As per previous reports, it is expected that the OnePlus 5T will have a circular fingerprint sensor placed on the rear panel.

The smartphone is likely to run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box and is said to sport a dual rear camera setup with two 20MP modules.
