While HMD Global is all set to launch its Nokia 8smartphone in India on Tuesday (September 25), a recent FCC listing suggested the arrival of a new variant of the handset.

The listing was spotted by Nokia Power User. Building on that, a new report from Winfuture.de says the company has ‘confirmed’ the launch.

It is worth adding that this 128GB inbuilt storage variant also comes with a bumped up RAM capacity. While the regular version includes 4GB RAM, the upcoming 128GB version comes with 6GB RAM.

While the earlier report said the 128GB Nokia 8 variant could be arriving for the US market, Winfuture.de says the new version is only for Germany as of now. HMD plans to make the smartphone available for users starting October 20 in Polished Blue variant. It may be priced at EUR 669 (roughly Rs 51,700).

Rest of the specifications of the Nokia 8 are likely to stay the same.

As a refresher, the Nokia 8 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and features a 5.3-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution screen with 2.5D curved display along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The highlight of the Nokia 8 stays with its dual rear camera. It is the first smartphone made by HMD to come with two camera sensors at the back, both powered by Carl Zeiss lenses.

The primary rear camera captures monochrome shots, while the secondary camera shoots coloured shots. The primary camera has an aperture of f/2.0 along with PDAF and dual-tone flash. Nokia 8 is also the company’s first handset to come with Nokia OZO audio, which is a 360-degree audio technology for better multimedia experience.
At the front, users get a 13MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and display flash. HMD Global, since the launch of its Nokia 8 smartphone has been advertising the smartphone’s ‘Bothie’ or Dual-Sight mode. The mode uses both front and rear cameras to show both angles on the screen. People can use this feature to livestream on YouTube and Facebook Live as well.
Powering Nokia 8 is a 3090mAh non-removable battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 tech.
