Huawei has already teased its upcoming Mate 10phablet in a video before. However, the company did not reveal any information about its launch or specifications. This time, the Chinese tech firm has posted an image on Twitter giving a clear message when its Mate 10 will be arriving.
According to the image shared by Hauwei’s official Australian channel, the Huawei Mate 10 will be arriving on October 16. It is not for sure where the device will be launched first.
Besides revealing the launch date, the image also suggests the phablet to come with dual Leica lenses at the back. This is expected given the company’s long-time partnership with the camera company for the Huawei P9, P9 Plus, Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, P10 and P10 Plus.
Also seen in the teaser image is that like the Mate 9, the Mate 10 will also be sporting a vertical dual rear camera setup.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu has already said to Bloomberg that the Mate 10 will be a competition to Apple’s upcoming iPhone handsets .
Yu says that the company’s Huawei Mate 10 will come with a full-screen display, something which could be similar to what we have seen with the Galaxy S8, Note 8 and LG G6 smartphones. For those unaware, the Apple iPhone 8 is also rumoured to sport a near bezel-less screen.
Yu further adds that besides the screen, the Mate 10’s improved charging speed, cameras and other features will make it a worthy contender to compete with the upcoming iPhone.
Few days ago it was reported that Huawei has even started sending invitations for its Mate 10 launch. The invite reads, “Meet the device worth waiting for.”
Based on the recently revealed video teaser, the Mate 10’s Leica cameras may be able to shoot images with bokeh effects, images with better colour contrasts and more. The video also shows the 12MP+20MP rear camera setup, which is the same used in the Mate 9 as well.
