The much-awaited OnePlus flagship smartphone OnePlus 5 has launched in India today. The all-new OnePlus 5 smartphone comes in two variants – 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 8GB RAM/128GB storage, priced at Rs 32,999 and 37,999 respectively. The smartphone is exclusively available on Amazon India’s website and will go on sale at 4.30 pm today. The smartphone will be available in open-sale from June 27 onwards. The smartphone will also be available for purchase at the company’s pop-up events in India. OnePlus is holding pop-up events at four cities in India, these include New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. OnePlus’ latest flagship will also be available at the company’s experience store in Bengaluru from June 27.
OnePlus 5 replaces the company’s OnePlus 3T smartphone that launched in December last year at Rs 29,999. The smartphone’s base storage is 4GB.
Coming to OnePlus 5, this is the first smartphone from OnePlus to come with 8GB RAM and dual-rear camera setup. The device consists of 16MP and 20MP modules with LED flash at the back. The 16MP sensor (Sony IMX398) comes with f/1.7 aperture, which claims to offer brighter images in low-light conditions. On the other hand, the secondary 20MP telephotozoom lens comes with optical zooming functionalities and f/2.6 aperture. On the front, the smartphone retains the same 15MP selfie-shooter.
The company has also included a new Depth Effect in the camera, which blurs the background and keeps the subject in focus. The camera is also capable of recording 4K videos and slow motion videos at 120 frames per second. There is also a 16MP selfie camera with electronic image stabilisation and f/2.0 aperture.
