NEW DELHI: OnePlushas not yet confirmed any rumours revolving around the upcoming OnePlus 5T smartphone. However, the handset maker has posted its first teaser that almost makes it clear that the OnePlus 5Thandset is coming soon.

The Chinese tech firm teased the smartphone on Twitter with an image showing five cups with tea. The cup has the company logo on it and the caption of the image reads “Oh, look! It’s five cups of…”. Although the firm has not yet said it, the natural answer to it is ‘Tea’.

Furthermore, a popular YouTuber MKBHD replied to the tweet stating “OnePlus 5tea. OnePlus 5T. You tease,” to which the OnePlus account replied with a ‘Wink’ emoji, confirming the smartphone’s existence.

For now, there is no confirmation when the company plans to launch the smartphone. However, since the OnePlus 3T was launched in December last year, the OnePlus 5T could also arrive at the same time this year.

According to a couple of tweets from the popular smartphone tipster Evan Blass, the handset could launch anytime after November 20.

The smartphone made its appearance on Benchmarking website AnTuTu recently revealing some of its specifications. Spotted by website, the specifications list shows the smartphone running Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the biggest change seen here is the Full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels), which we have seen being used in smartphones with extended displays.

It is worth noting that the alleged teaser image seen recently also showed the smartphone sporting an 18:9 aspect ratio screen.

The processor and the GPU stays the same with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 GPU. The smartphone’s RAM and inbuilt storage also unchanged with 8GB and 128GB respectively.
Alleged OnePlus 5T’s rear camera has been marginally improved. It is seen with dual 20MP rear cameras. OnePlus 5 comes with a 16MP+20MP combination.
Furthermore, the smartphone was seen listed for pre-orders on the Oppomart website along with nearly the same specs and a placeholder price tag of $549 price tag (roughly Rs 35,700).
