Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 launched: Price, specifications and more
Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 smartphone is here. The company launched the second-generation version of its bezel-less smartphone Mi Mix, launched in October 2016, at an event in Beijing, China. The Chinese smartphone maker has launched Mi Mix 2 just a day ahead of the official unveiling of Apple’s next iPhones on September 12 at an event in California. The company is speculated to launch three new iPhones — iPhone 8 or iPhone X, iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus.

Xiaomi Mi 2 comes in three variants as per RAM storage capacity. These include 6GB RAM/64GB storage at CNY 3,299 (Rs 32,000); 6GB RAM/128GB storage at CNY 35,999 (Rs 35,000 approximately); and 6GB RAM/256GB storage at CNY 3,999 (Rs 39,000 approximately). There’s also an Special Edition of the smartphone priced at CNY 4,699 (approximately 46,000). The Special Edition Xiaomi Mi 2 comes full ceramic body and 8GB RAM/128GB storage.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 specifications
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 sports a bezel-less 5.99-inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. As widely speculated, it is powered by Qualcomm’s top-end processor Snapdragon 835. It sports 6GB RAM and comes in storage variants of 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. There’s also an special edition with 8GB RAM. It packs a 3400 mAh battery (1000 mAh less than Mi Mix) with Quick Charge 3.0 support. On the camera front, Mi Mix 2 has a 12MP Sony IMX382 sensor with a larger pixel size of 1.25um and 4-axis optical image stabilisation. The front camera is 5MP. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is powered by the company’s own MIUI 9 based on Google’s Android 7 Nougat. The smartphone is also likely to get update to the latest Android variant, Android 8.0.
As for connectivity, the Mi Mix 2 offers support for LTE 4, dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi, 4G +. In all, it supports 43 bands. The smartphone, however, lacks support for 3.5 mm headphone jack.
